Social media is a digital way of living these days. We acquire and share information through social media. Social media are being part everyone's life. About 3.2 billion people among 7.5 billion people of this world use social media. Social media are gaining this amount of importance due to its great and versatile ability to engage people. People's life is being much entertaining with easy access to many information under their one click. Social media are utilized in many ways, some stay in touch with their pals, relatives or loved ones despite being miles away from each other and some use it for entertainment. Social media is really bringing people closer and creating a better society in terms of digital aspects. Moreover nothing can stay away from negativity and criticism since social media has also brought many unavoidable matter that can only be solved through awareness and responsibilities.


Social media are solely made to bring society close making this world a  cyber colony, but it has brought many serious problem within itself. People are engaged in social media in overwhelming way. The social media is being a part of everyone's life and people are compelled to use it whether they like it or not. Despite having many positive impact of social media some impacts are so hazardous that compels us to think before we use social media. It has created a drastic impact on youth since most of the social media user are from youth era. Moreover other age group is also affected. The rising problem in social media is FOMO which stands for Fear of missing out, this is a kind of anxiety or depression which affects the social media users. Most of the people think that they are ignored or they have missed out something only on the basis of social media post. This is creating a lot of problem in the society which creates a barrier among people.

Anxiety and Depression can never be away from people who use social media. Many people face cyber bullying and threats that affects them negatively. Over use of anything is not good and we never get tired of using social media.  We are lured by the content of these media and get lost in them. Fake social status and lifestyle is bringing problem in society. Social media posts are never 100% true or based on fact so it can never be an authentic source of any information. We can never rely on social media for news or facts. Social media addiction is being another problem in today's world. The approach of social media has grown amazingly in two decades. Social media have risen many social issues that affects people's life hazardous ways.

Social media can be a best way to connect people around the world but it can also be an annoying media which tracks your activities. Most of the social media track our behavior in online world for advertisement targeting. These kind of activity affects the children most of the time since it manipulates children's mind and increase the problem of pornography, drugs and other  sensitive material. So its time to control the influence of social media on children since it affects the creative growth of children. Since children are tomorrow's pillar of nation they should be made more creative, responsible and independent in many other ways.

But we should never reject social change, it is mankind's behavior to change way of living with change of life. Social media are obviously made for mankind's help, moreover social media are made to make this society more fruitful, closer and more happier. 21st century is filled with opportunities with the help of social media and it has made our life easier. We cannot discard these media completely but we can control the use and change the way of using. Specially Nepalese society is being affected negatively with the rising use of social media due lack of proper awareness and government priority it increasing social problem rather creating a peaceful society. Most of the users do not know about cyber law and remaining do not care any law. We should always be responsible and careful while using social media.
